FanSci, Fansci [1] or more correctly, the Fantasy and Science Fiction Society of NUI Galway was founded in 1991. Prominent names among these early pioneers were Deirdre Thornton, Robert Neilson, Ian DeSouza and Kieran Turley. On 10th March 2011 Fansci held Convergence, a huge 20th Anniversary Birthday party which led into the events of Itzacon VII.
